Dr. Gene Hwang is a pediatric neuro-oncologist at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, where he also serves as the Chief of Oncology and holds the William Hughes Professorship in Neuro-oncology and Immunology. He also the Vice Chair of the Brain Tumor Institute, the Director of Clinical Neuro-immunotherapy, and is the Chair of several working groups involving immunotherapy and specific pediatric CNS tumors in various consortia. Dr. Hwang’s focus is on early phase clinical trials, leading or co-leading 8 current trials in this space, and participating in multiple think-tanks aimed at improving treatment options for children with brain cancer.
