“Megan is a Site Safety Professional, specializing in manufacturing safety. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety & Health Management.
In late summer 2003, Megan at the age of 8 witnessed her sister experience her first headache. Within 6 weeks following the quick onset of symptoms, on October 1, 2003, Megan finally had an answer to all the changes happening to her sister. It was CANCER, identified as low-grade inoperable brainstem tumor, resulting in acquired hydrocephalus.
From that day forward, Megan became a sibling survivor and advocate. She found her voice through attending sibling cancer camps and became participant of Kids Kicking Cancer.
As an adult, Megan devotes her time as a sibling/patient advocate for pediatric cancer families and serves as a longstanding volunteer for The Heroes Circle, previously known as Kids Kicking Cancer. A non-profit organization that teaches kids non-contact evidence-based therapeutic martial arts, focusing on breathing and meditation techniques to help lower pain and stress through virtual and in-person programs offered at no cost to families around the world.”
